About Me

About Me

Hi, I’m Claudia, a musician, teacher and performer in the Ribble Valley.

I am classically trained with a music degree and was awarded a scholarship to complete a masters in research performance. I graduated from my masters degree in 2020 and have been teaching and performing ever since.

The love and passion I have for music grows every single day, which stems from childhood. I began playing my instruments from 8 years old and played with local youth and junior orchestras and bands from a young age. After my A levels, I worked in the music department in a school, and here is when I decided to pursue music as a career and looked to complete my qualifications. As soon as I began my degree, I knew that I was born to perform. During my degree, I majored in performance, whilst exploring avenues of music in education, where I began to learn about how I could share my love of music with others.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing across the UK and beyond, from prestigious orchestras like the Blackburn Symphony Orchestra, Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra and Manchester Wind Orchestra, to local ensembles such as Elbow Room. I’ve toured France and Germany playing classical works on clarinet. I now regularly perform on sax, clarinet, and piano at venues, with the council, and at private events and weddings in the north west of England, and overseas.

Alongside performing, I am a passionate educator with over five years of classroom teaching experience and a wealth of private tuition expertise. I love helping students of all ages and abilities develop their musical skills, whether they’re just starting out or preparing for advanced studies. I gained Qualified Teacher Status in 2020 to teach professionally in Secondary Music Education, and in my training I specialised in instrumental teaching. I currently teach a wide range of diverse music to pupils aged 11-18 and find it incredibly rewarding to watch my pupils grow into young musicians – seeing their progress first-hand is one of the best parts of what I do.

My dream has always been to perform and share my passion, and as cheesy as it sounds, by reading this today you’re helping my dreams come true. My aim is simple really, whether I’m on stage or in the classroom, my goal is always the same – to share my passion for music, inspire others along the way, and bring the magic of music to every occasion.

My performance journey began with classical training, including solo and ensemble opportunities. Earning a Bachelor of Music in classical music gave me a strong foundation that I’ve carried into popular and gigging performances. Many top musicians start with classical training, as it builds essential skills and discipline.
